Free close up photo of a QWERTY keyboard. The QWERTY keyboard is so-named because the positioning of the keys appears to spell out the word “querty.” It was first adopted for the typewriter, ironically not because it allowed for faster typing, but because it placed common letter combinations it separate areas of the keyboard so that the keys would not get jammed. The layout is still used today for most computers and electronic devices. Free image for any use.
