Free high resolution photo of a female house finch bird. The house finch (Carpodacus mexicanus) is a small bird native to Mexico and the southwestern United States. House finches are a brownish gray color with a characteristic cone shaped beak, square tipped tail and streaked belly. Males have some red coloring on the head and breast, but the females, like this one are pretty much all brown and gray. This picture is free for any use.
