Free high resolution photo of Bear Creek Lake in Lakewood, Colorado – just west of Denver. Bear Creek lake is technically a reservoir – it is formed by the Bear Creek Dam and provides flood protection for the city of Denver. This photo was taken from the top of Mt. Carbon – which is a small hill just to the south of the lake. In the distance you can see Lookout Mountain. This photograph was taken in the late summer of 2013 shortly before flooding caused the reservoir to rise to historic levels. Free picture for any use.
